The control layer for Legal AI
LexAnon sits between confidential legal work and artificial intelligence so lawyers can use the models they prefer while the organisation remains in control.
What LexAnon does
Before information reaches an AI model, LexAnon detects and protects sensitive content, applies organisational policies and creates a controlled version of the document for processing. Once the AI task is complete, protected information can be securely restored through human-reviewed restore.
Most AI products answer questions. LexAnon prepares legal knowledge for AI—enabling organisations to work with real documents while preserving confidentiality and legal context.

Structure and legal meaning stay intact. Originals remain in the encrypted server vault for reviewed restore—not in the file you send to AI.
Available now
LexAnon currently provides the first operational layer of trusted Legal AI infrastructure— an on-premises server plus a thin Chrome client.
On-premises control plane
- Single-binary LexAnon server for macOS, Windows and Linux
- Chrome extension thin client with one-time pairing codes
- Loopback admin UI for pairing, settings and job visibility
- Optional local LLM (e.g. Ollama) for detection and verification—no silent “AI worked” fallback
Detection and review
- Pattern rules for people, companies, contacts, IDs, amounts and more
- Editable, linked replacement text with server-side tamper checks
- English or Russian placeholder labels ([NAME_1] / [ФИО_1])
- Category toggles, exclusion list and free-text redaction instructions
Document workflows
- DOCX with format-preserving replacement; TXT; PDF→AI-readable text; legacy .doc conversion where LibreOffice is available
- Placeholder, mask and delete modes (mask/delete are non-restorable)
- Highlighted DOCX review artifact via a packaged document processor
- Optional secure visual PDF (flattened, OCR-verified, intentionally non-restorable)
Lawyer-facing UX
- Full-tab anonymise and restore review
- Upload intercept on allowlisted AI chat sites (attach original is always an explicit choice)
- Post-anonymisation verification status in the UI
- Optional local mapping JSON sidecar for records (restore still uses the server vault only)
Clear boundaries
Trustworthy Legal AI products say what they will not do. LexAnon is explicit about non-goals and irreversible modes:
- The encrypted restore vault is not exported to clients; restore never trusts a downloaded JSON file.
- Mask, delete and secure visual PDF outputs are intentionally non-restorable.
- Secure visual PDF and highlighted DOCX require the corresponding runtime components; the product disables unavailable options rather than failing silently.
- LexAnon does not claim third-party certifications (e.g. SOC 2) on this site unless separately published.
